Cheesy Lovey-Dovey Story

Salam and good morning everyone.
So, I was thinkin'..And I decided to post a story today..
It isn't really my story, I picked up the idea from another person.
So, zero points for me on originality, but I hope you like it.

Ashraf was having a really bad day. His forehead was enchroached in frown lines and his mouth was quite upside down. So, his girlfriend Athirah decided to take matters into her own hands. Dragging Ashraf with her, she forced him to take a stroll in the park, but alas, that didn't work.

"Athirah, I don't want to take a stroll. I just wanna sit down, okay? Please?" pleaded Ashraf.
"Oh, all right. But you have to smile first." Athirah said.
Ashraf gave her one of his famous smirks.
"A real genuine smile, Ashraf. Not that smirk again." she complained.
"Sorry, nope. Not a chance." he deflected.
"Uggh, okay. But you have to hear me make jokes. Promise?" she said.
"Okay, okay. Happy?" he said wearily as he plumped down on the cool wet grass.

So, Athirah started telling Ashraf some ridiculous jokes, including this one..

"How 'bout this?" Athirah took a deep breath as Ashraf placed his head on his elbow, staring up at her like an innocent child. "A little boy decided to do a jigsaw puzzle; he finished it in two hours, and was pretty pleased with himself, because the box said three to four years." Athirah burst out laughing.
Truth to tell, it really wasn't funny.
And Ashraf was quite frank about it.

Ashraf cringed, burying his head in his hands. "That was really funny, Athirah. Seriously, I mean, I thought you had better jokes than that." he rolled his eyes again.

"It was funny. You just don't have any sense of humour," Athirah retorted back.
"Yes, ma'am. You're always right," Ashraf surrendered and lied down on the grass.

She glowered at him. She didn't think of herself as a person who gave in easily, but she just could not think of any way to make Ashraf smile.
"Sit up," she commanded.
"Why?" Ashraf replied.
"Just get up, okay," she persisted.
"Oh, all right then," he slowly sat up.

Athirah sat opposite him, staring into his deep hazel eyes. "I love you,"
That instant, a true smile curved on Ashraf's face.

"Yes! You smiled," Athirah cried with glee.
"No, I didn't smile! My mouth just twitched, that's all.." Ashraf defended lamely.
"Just admit it, Ashraf. You smiled because of me," she threw her head back in laughter but stopped short when she felt Ashraf's hand on hers.

"Yes, you win. Happy? " Ashraf said with a smile this time, one that seemed to light up his eyes.
"Very happy," Athirah replied back while grinning from ear to ear.

So, what do you think? Too cheesy? Ahahahaha.
