won't think TOO badly of me
Hey, I am a girl..and girls are supposed to be geeking/obsessing over something
well, girls like me do, so
Welcome to my world, the world of the Vampire Diaries :D
I'm supposed to write this post because I want to write how deadly (pun intended) I am in love with this show
but, I think this video says it all
No offense, if you guys don't think like that, then I don't think you actually know the word 'epic'.
Okay, just kidding... Don't get all hot and bothered :D
Reasons why I LURVE the Vampire Diaries so much :
1) SO much MORAL VALUES..
I think that at the centre of this story, it's not really about the love triangle ( okay I know I ship Delena, but that doesn't count ) .. it's about the feeling of brotherhood between the two brothers, Stefan and Damon. You can see it for yourself in the following vid :
Apart from this really SWEET scene, what Elena was really trying to say is..
Stefan will always love his brother, maybe even more than he loves Elena.
And Damon hearing that, will surely try ALL-OUT to bring his brother back, because DUH !
His love of his life pointed it out to him..
All in All, Its about
FAMILY
Because at the end of the day..they always look out for each other and save each other's backs..literally..
Seriously, I can't even begin to count!
Because when you're immortal, if you kill your immortal-brother, where does that leave you?
That's right. ALONE
Which brings us to.
HUMANITY
ok, I know this is a vampire story, and you'll be like 'what the hell'
But that's what makes it so interesting..They. Are. Vampires.
They're supposed to be cold-blooded killers (I admit, sometimes they do :D), have no feelings and not a shred of humanity left in themselves..but sometimes the humanity breaks through..
Through love, friendship, family, loss, despair and many other things that makes us human..
Like Vampire Katherine said :
Humanity is a vampire's greatest weakness. No matter how easy it is to turn it off, it just keeps trying to fight it's way back in. Sometimes I let it.
Vampire Diaries, 3x09, Homecoming
The way I see it, the vampires (mostly) in this story being so multi-layered (my favourite being Damon) is what makes them so..Believable. Human. Imperfect.
At this rate, I actually think animals are more human than humans themselves.. what with the baby dumping and what-not. Animals would never do that to their offspring. NEVER.
2) A ROLLER-COASTER of emotions.
Really, this story can make me laugh from one minute to crying the next second!
For example, in the season 2 premiere "The Return", I was laughing out loud at Damon's joke and then the next second I felt so sorry for him when Katherine said she never loved him, instead she loved Stefan, and then, I was just like What the hell happened!? because Damon just killed Jeremy. Seriously, how can you do that to me writers??!! I was feeling all this emotions in just the space of less than an hour!
Imagine, founding out that the girl you were just beginning to love (Elena), who you kissed, was actually not her, but her doppleganger who you searched and loved for the past 150 years! And then that same girl told you this :-
Damon : You know, why is it such a surprise that I would kiss you?
Elena : It wasn't. I'm surprised you thought I would kiss you back.
Damon : Now I'm hurt.

And then, Elena said that same thing too, which you responded by breaking her brother's neck...
Seriously, who wouldn't break down when you faced rejection from both girls you loved, who has the same face!? I think I would seriously go insane if I were to go through what Damon did.
Sorry, I personally picked Damon's scenario because he is my favourite character on the show (squealing), and he is such a multi-faceted character..just look at him.. Don't you feel sorry for him?
happiness, touching, heartbreak, fear, sadness, jaw-dropping..every feeling that you get when you know, fell that this show is amazing and totally awesome..ing, is really portrayed by this incredible show
3) Plot Twists & Cliffhangers ! (WTF)
You know, one of my friends actually introduced me to this show, and she already told me at the season one finale, it was Katherine that kissed Damon (spoiler), not Elena. And yet, I dunno, maybe I was too caught up with the steamy kiss between the two and felt so happy that I totally forgot about that crucial info my friend tipped me of. And I still shouted WTH! when Elena miraculously turns into Katherine..
That has got to be the BEST cliffhanger ever! Just see this :D
But the one thing about cliffhangers, is that it makes me crave more for the show, and that is really unhealthy
4) the Amazing and Beautiful cast, preferably Ian Somerhalder <3
I'm really sorry, but the first time I saw Damon, I had already liked him..loved maybe :) I dunno, maybe I'm a sucker for bad boys, but you've got to be blind not to fall in love with that gorgeous face of his !
Sorry for being such a normal GIRL, but you know me;)
Its not just his face, you know its his character..
At the start, he showed up as a snarky, evil, sarcastic and bad-boy kind of guy who cares for nobody else except himself. True? NOT AT ALL.. Bit by bit, he began peeling his layers off, showing his vulnerable and human side of him, and by 1x09 "History Repeating", we got to know that all of his actions before was really fueled by.. LOVE. And he continues to show us the man he is further in 1x22 "Founders Day" :
Damon : I came to this town wanting to destroy it, and tonight I found myself trying to protect it, how's that happened? I'm not a hero, Elena. I don't do good. It's not in me.
Katherine (faux-elena): Maybe it is.
Damon : No. It's only reserved for you, Stefan and Bonnie, who despite hating me, still helped you to save me.

All this while, we thought that Damon did bad and evil things because he enjoyed it. Now, we were shocked to know that he did all those bad things just because he thought he wasn't capable of being good or, in other words the 'hero' like he thought Stefan was..awww
There's many more reasons you know that I think Damon would agree whole-heartedly, won't you Damon??
5) DELENA <3
Pretty2 please! I know that this point is redundant since i already talked about Damon, but I have to write about the who I'm shipping right?? For me, this couple is what sets me squealing and fan-girling and going out of control and saying 'awww' and grinning sheepishly to myself and..huh. That was really a lot to say, I'm almost out of breath..panting :)
One thing I'm sure, I have to do another post just for this ship ONLY :D
But, no worries, I won't leave you hanging.
